While cleaning up i found a cd-r with harp samples that i recorded in lengfeld a few years ago. Recorded with zoom h2 ,processed with audacity. Here you are.

The basic sounds are three samples ,taken from my kawai-k1. I resampled them,denoised them and put them into my yamaha moxf6-synth.

I enhanced it to the best of my abilities in audacity since the original recording had a low bitrate (64kbps mp3), the volume was low and it had a lot of static noise. Hohner blues harp in c, played cross-harp (g major) for multiple “train whistle” sounds. First played high (d and f), then lower (b and d) , then a little faster. Recorded about 10 inches away with tascam dr-05. Multiple takes were trimmed and assembled in audacity.

All sounds are created with the pluck-. Function of audacity. I modified the attack phase, changed some harmonics with notch-filter andlowpass. For the pluck noise i used a bandpass- filtered white noise.

I sampled a single note, which then fed ok into a midi keyboard, allowing me to effectively play jews harp melodies. The result was pretty ok.

Some riffing on a small bamboo mouth harp purchased in yunnan, china. The pumi name for these instruments is didi or cuocuo. This one is a relatively low register, for this instrument. Recorded with toptech tf-a27 digital voice recorder.
